From Sketch to Stitch

The journey of each piece begins in nature, where I observe the interplay of light, colour, movement and shadow. I translate these into initial sketches using vibrant inks and oil pastels.
Fluidity and Freedom
As I transition from sketch to embroidery, I embrace the freedom offered by the sewing machine. This process allows me to experiment with movement and texture, reflecting the organic shapes found in nature. The unpredictable nature of the threads adds a layer of spontaneity, allowing each piece to evolve uniquely.
A Reflection of Connection
Throughout this creative process, I explore the theme of interconnectedness. Just as each thread contributes to the overall composition, so too does every element of nature play a role in the tapestry of life. This philosophy is woven into the very fabric of my work, inviting viewers to contemplate their own connections to the world around them.
