As seen in The World of Interiors Magazine

Claire is a British Contemporary Textile Artist. She believes in creating original textural pieces of art that enhance our interior living spaces.  She brings the outside in with her original and colourful works. Her art work inspires and enriches our environments. Claire achieves this by creating organic and colourful works painting with wool and silk fibres.

Based in Provence and inspired by the world. Claire has always had a keen interest in all textiles and developed this passion studying Embroidery at Manchester Metropolitan University, which lead her into various creative pursuits, but the love she has found is in felting or as she likes to call it painting with wool. She finds inspiration in artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Picasso, Andy Goldsworthy, Andy Warhol, Ansel Adams, Matisse and Rothko for their use of colour, mixed media, and subjects.

“I believe we deserve to live in an inspiring environment both at home and away, I love the freedom and fluidity that painting with fibres gives you.  There are no boundaries and each piece is unique in its shape and composition.  There is no final say in how the piece turns out its up to the fibres and how they want to work together.   I am constantly inspired by botanical forms, the colours and shapes in nature. I like to zoom in on subjects and focus on what others might not see.”
